Senior Dance Show, Virtues, to Debut on Friday, April 21 at St. Gregory’s University
St. Gregory’s University dance students Natalie Isaacs and Ryoko Sano will debut their senior dance show Virutes on Friday, April 21 at 8 p.m. in the Sarkeys Performing Arts Center.
As part of their senior project, Isaacs and Sano worked together to choreograph, design and plan Virtues. According to Sano, the performance will revolve around the Cardinal virtues justice, fortitude, temperance and prudence.
“I am happy that we can share these pieces in our senior dance show,” said Sano.
She continued on to say that the performance isn’t about the performers making steps or hitting poses.
“This performance is about momentum, breath and an enlightenment of the mind,” she said. “Making each virtue into dance was definitely challenging to choreograph, but at the same time, it was exciting to explore the dance world and how could I bring the image of my mind into the visual dance movement. I hope that the audience gets the spiritual ideas as we experience the dance world together!”
Virtues will play throughout the weekend, with additional performances on Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 23 at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and $5 for children and can be purchased at the box office located in the theatre lobby one hour prior to each performance. For more information, please contact Dr. Jessica Van Oort by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
